A Bible Study Program of the Life of Jesus
"I was blessed to be raised in a loving Christian home by Ruth and Tom Cowley. Methodist Youth Fellowship leaders, Frank and Mary Lou New, helped shape my teenage faith. Shortly after marriage to Karen, both of us were introduced to an adult personal relationship with Jesus through home Bible studies led by Dean and Lois Griffith. By age 50, I had probably heard 2,500 sermons, attended numerous conferences, and held many lay leadership positions in churches. Although my faith had grown, when asked to recall and share vital spiritual information, I was often at a loss. I felt like there were hundreds of little pieces of paper around me, notes I had jotted down from sermons, church conferences, and weekly Bible studies, but forgotten. I lacked an overall framework to use to fit all this information together. I felt frustrated and felt unable to remember or share God's word effectively with others.
My journey to order spiritual data for recall began in 1988 when our then pastor, Ray Johnston, challenged those attending the first service in January to read the Bible cover to cover in the upcoming year. I took Ray up on his challenge. Over the course of that year I began to see how pieces of the Bible fit together. I became excited about bringing "order" to my previously "disconnected" parts of spiritual information. The Bible, and in particular the life of Jesus, is the story of God's plan for living life. Since that time my ministry has been to help others order their spiritual information, particularly the Bible and the life of Jesus. In the last 18 years I have learned much through ordering information from the Bible for recall. This journey with Jesus is a blessing."

Tom also has degrees from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, CA (M.A.T.S. -1998) and Northwestern University, Evanston, IL (1960 B.S. and 1965 M.B.A.).

Stepping back from a business career of strategic planning, Tom has "re-fired" himself for ministry to equip followers of Jesus to tell the story of Jesus and a mission that all people know Jesus and his teachings. He has served in various church leadership roles, but currently is focused on his writing and teaching ministry. Tom married his loving wife, Karen in 1964. He is a proud father of two married children, Allison de Laveaga and John Cowley. Karen and Tom enjoy family, including four grandchildren, from their home in Tiburon, CA.
